Solution

Staff planned to demand

A forecast from your own figures - till, bookings, weather, holidays - tells you when you need how many people. The staff rota follows from it.

The problem

If you staff every week the same way, you are short-handed on a warm Friday evening and overstaffed on a rainy Tuesday. That costs twice: wages for hours when nothing is happening, and revenue and nerves when everyone comes at once.

The solution

A forecast from your own figures:

  • Learning: a model learns from your past how weekday, time of day, weather, public and school holidays drive demand
  • Forecast: for the coming days and weeks it predicts how busy each half hour will be
  • Demand: that becomes how many people you need when, separately for areas such as service, kitchen or till
  • Rota: you plan with the demand in front of you and see where the plan is too thin or too thick

This applies to restaurants as well as shops, practices, workshops or leisure businesses. The demo application shows what it looks like: a restaurant in Cologne with real weather, public holidays and carnival. The guests are made up, following patterns that are typical in hospitality.

What it costs

The first question is whether your figures are enough. The free initial assessment answers that. If it pays off, a trial run on your data at a fixed price follows, then the expansion into an application in stages. More under AI with approval.

Frequent questions

Which data do I need?

Figures you usually have already - till receipts or revenue per hour, bookings, appointments, customer numbers. One to two years are ideal. I add weather, public holidays and school holidays from public sources.

Does this monitor my employees?

No. The forecast works only with aggregated figures such as guests or customers per half hour. The performance of individual employees plays no part and is not recorded.

How accurate is it?

That depends on your data. Before you commission anything, I check on a sample how well your business can be forecast and show you the result next to what actually happened.

Does it replace my rota software?

Not necessarily. The forecast can also just deliver the demand, which you then plan in the program you are used to.
